Hello all! Coming at you with another outfit blog post. This outfit is from my time in Mykonos. Everything about Mykonos is very… white. I mean that quite literally. All of the buildings are white, people have shops that are dedicated to white clothing, and they even paint the floor white! To match with them… I wore… you guessed it, white! I hope you enjoy this very white blog post (lol ok I’m done)! If you want to check out my other posts from Greece: I wore a red set in Athens and sailed the seas of Santorini!
Mykonos Isn’t Just White for the Atheistics
You would think this beautiful place is white because they generally just enjoy the color, but there’s an actual practical reason. The locals told us it’s the best color to not absorb heat. It’s very hot in Mykonos usually and so they paint everything white to not soak it all in. In general, before the 1900’s it wasn’t painted white per say, but the material that was made on the outside was dyed a white to help with their sweltering summers. Now however, it’s definitely painted white for the tourism.
Enough with the history lesson, let’s talk about the outfit. The star of the outfit is definitely the skirt and fanny pack. Let me tell you… just how useful this little fanny pack has been. I’m not a person who loves carrying around a ton of stuff. Especially since I already have a pretty heavy DSLR camera to lug around, so this was perfect to hold cash cards and my ID. Convenient and also great to store cash that won’t get pick-pocketed since it’s in front.
The skirt is also super cute and from this small online store, Frankie Phoenix. They have some amazing items and I discovered them from Instagram. They have pretty high quality items and I like the curated items generally.
