Top Things to do on Vashon Island, Washington

Hello all! I’ve been an away for a little while but life has been busy. With summer being in full-swing, I’ve been out and about and trying to shoot as much content as possible while the weather is good… However, it doesn’t leave too much time to actually write the blogs. Oops. Nevertheless, I’m back and ready to create consistent blog content with a Vashon Island blog post!

This one is from my trip to Vashon Island, Washington. Let me tell you something… there’s not much to do. There are only about two things worth going to and even those are a bit of a stretch. Especially since it’s quite a trek. Without further ado, here’s the blog post! If you live in the Washington area, here is an another day trip that I took to Vancouver and Victoria. These places are relatively close and are perfect for a weekend getaway!

A Day on Vashon Island… errr more like half-day

Vashon Island Lavender Farm

The first thing we did was go to the Vashon Island Lavender Farm. Lavender goes into full-bloom mid-July and I wanted to get some pics in the fields. The one on Vashon Island is very small but still worth going to! I would say it’s the highlight of the entire island. Beware, come as soon as it opens. It can get crowded and it’s in a neighborhood so there isn’t much parking.

The best part of the lavender field is you can pick your own, or have the workers pick it for you! They sell them by the bundle which is about a thumb and pointer circle.

My boyfriend loves lavender and picked some… I however am not a fan of the smell. I did try some of their lavender lemonade however. It was delicious and I can get the appeal of it.

The Smallest Lighthouse Ever

We planned our trip before and saw that a lot of people suggested checking out the Lighthouse at Point Robinson. We got tons of snacks, brought a blanket, and our drone; only to find there was a festival happening. Which would have been amazing and fun, however it was very family orientated… Ergo there were more kids activities than adult.

There wasn’t also a lot of room, so we shacked it up on a bench and ate some scrumptious white peaches from Costco (love Costco, please sponsor me).

Unfortunately we couldn’t drone as it seems you need a permit for EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to fly it. Lame.

Did I mention this must have been the least effective lighthouse ever? It was minuscule and definitely disappointed. Still super cute, but in reality… how was it effective?!

Downtown Vashon

As expected from the tone of my writing, Vashon Island is very lack luster. The downtown area is about a strip. There is more restaurants than necessary in my honest opinion and not too many stores.

All in all, it’s a beautiful place if you want to get away and chill out, but as a person in their 20’s. It just wasn’t my vibe or place. I could however totally seeing myself staying a weekend when I have 2.5 kids, a husband, three cats, and two dogs? Is that soon? No lol.

Still doing Fashion Outfits of Course 😉

I brought two outfits that I wanted to showcase, a cute dress from Urban Outfitters and a flirty cheetah print from Abercrombie.

I love both, however the Urban dress does run pretty small. I opted for a small when usually I’m a XS. It really does accentuate your natural curves of your torso however.
